Price gone for the year...what does it mean?
Price had the injury bug from day one in 2010. Lets hope 2011 is better for him.
Well for starters, a little pressure comes off of fellow rookie DT Gerald McCoy who has been held sack-less, but with each game seems to get more and more pressure. The announcement that Price will miss the rest of the season really polishes off a very dull rookie year for the rookie from UCLA. Right from the get go Price wasn’t able to practice too much with the Bucs because of just plain old bad luck with the way his school’s schedule corresponded with the Bucs. NFL/NCAA rules say a rookie cannot practice with their new team until their academic year is complete. Only exception to this is the weekend rookie camp that happens right after the draft. This was about the only action Price got in. He had hamstring issues, and that seemed to stretch into another injury, a pelvic one. There is a fracture in his pelvis, one that will require surgery, a screw to be put in to secure the fracture and prevent it from cracking more, which is what is has been doing. Not only is the injury NOT career threatening, he should be ready to practice for next season. The downside obviously is he misses valuable playing time, and basically will become a rookie all over again next season.
