When the game is on the line, its not just the offense that plays lights out.

Tampa Bay unsuccessfully tried an onside kick, and it didnt work. Worse yet, the Bucs give the ball to Atlanta in Prime field position. The defense holds. Backed up to his own one yard line a bomb to Spurlock gives the Bucs a first down, until Atlanta picks of Freeman with 10 minutes to go in the game in Bucs territory. The defense holds. Time and time again we are seeing the Bucs play Comeback Kids on offense with Josh Freeman engieneering 4 fourth quarter comebacks this year. But the defense deserves some credit too, as they come alive in the second half too! All season long the Bucs defense has kept the other team out of the end zone when it counts in the second half.

All told, the Bucs defense has given up 44 points in the 8 games this year, none more than two touchdowns by the Saints and Cardinals. Take those 28 points out, and the rest are from 6 games. Thats 5.5 points per game in the second half. Some big plays from the second half of games this year…
