Tuesday night (see box) can be summed up as:
1. Brewers’ collected just 5 hits on the night (4 off starter Adam Eaton, 1 off of starter turned reliever Brett Myers)
2. Two of the five were solo homers
3. One of the homers was a Johnny Estrada dinger in the 9th to tie the game at 3-3
4. Derrick Turnbow was called upon…and, like last night, couldn’t keep the Phils off the board (well, at least catcher Carlos Ruiz, who hit a walk-off home run to win the game for the Phils)
Which means:
1. The Brewers have now lost three straight, four of their last five…and have dropped to .500 (9-9) on the road
2. Tomorrow’s game pitting Jeff Suppan against Cole Hamels is fast approaching “must win” status
Also, skipper Ned Yost was tossed from tonight’s game for arguing “balls and strikes”–Geoff Jenkins was called out on a pitch just above his shoelaces, and Yost had to come out and save Jenkins from getting tossed (FWIW, I liked the way Yost stood up for his player).
