In Sunday’s rubber match, the Twins took a 4-0 lead in the top of the 3rd, and a 5-2 lead in the top of the 4th.
But all it took to get “Big Mo” back on the Brewers’ side was Geoff Jenkins’ 9th homer of the year–also his 200th career homer–to put the Brewers back in the game.
But Jenkins wanted to make sure that this one didn’t get away.
So when he came to the plate in the bottom of the 7th, with Prince Fielder on third, Jenkins singled to drive in Fielder with the winning run. Coco Cordero earned his 17th Save of the year, as the Crew won 6-5, to move back to 5 games ahead of Houston in the NL Central.
Now onto the West Coast, where the Brewers start with three night games against the NL West leading Dodgers, followed by three in San Diego after an off day on Thursday…the Brewers send Jeff Suppan on Monday evening, followed by Ben Sheets on Tuesday night, and Chris Capuano on Wednesday.
