As expected, the Brewers designated outfielder Kevin Mench for assignment on Monday, two days before he’d have been non-tendered for arbitration. The move was necessary to add Salomon Torres to the 40-man roster.
With a pending signing, and less than 60 hours to decide who to offer arbitration to, does anyone else have this weird feeling that someone like Claudio Vargas or even Chris Capuano might not get offered arbitration?
