Series Preview: Phillies (11-10) @ Brewers (12-8)

The Brewers continue their homestand with their first meeting with the ’07 NL East champion Philadelphia Phillies for two games on Wednesday and Thursday at Miller Park.
Pitching Probables:
Wednesday, 4/23, 7:05 p.m. CT: LHP Cole Hamels (2-2, 1.86) vs. RHP Dave Bush (0-3, 7.02)
Thursday, 4/24, 12:05 p.m. CT: LHP Jamie Moyer (1-1, 4.79) vs. RHP Jeff Suppan (1-0, 4.13)
Things to watch for:
1. How will long time Brewer Geoff Jenkins do in his return to Miller Park as a Phillie? How will the fans react? (Jerod at RightFieldBleachers.com put together this Geoff Jenkins’ tribute to help get Brewers’ fans to cheer Jenkins when he returns). Geoff deserves cheers from Brewers’ fans…sure, he turned out to be overpaid…but, hey, we’d have all signed that contract for that kind of money…and Geoff gave it everything he had when he was with Milwaukee…mostly with some pretty pathetic teams.
2. Can the mostly right-handed offense of the Brewers capitalize on seeing two southpaw starters?
3. Will Bush pitch well enough to keep his starting job for another week? Hint: Bush has a 6.23 lifetime ERA vs. the Phillies.
4. Will the Phillies–who lead the majors in home runs at the moment with 34–and NL home run leader Chase Utley (who has 9 by himself already) find home run friendly Miller Park to their liking? Hint: Utley bats lefty and is hitting .380 versus righties this season.
