Brewers drop first game to BoSox, 5-3

You know things aren’t going well when you walk in the first run of the game…and in the first inning to boot.
Not only did Brewers’ pitcher Jeff Suppan do that, he also served up a 3-run homer to David Ortiz, to give the Red Sox a nice 4-0 cushion after two innings.
Daisuke Matsuzaka kept the Crew off the board until the Crew scored two unearned runs in the 7th after Rickie Weeks reached first on an error, and Mike Cameron cranked his 4th homer of the year to cut the score to 4-2. But the Red Sox scored a 5th run in the bottom of the 8th on a Jacoby Ellsbury double, plating Jason Varitek; Ryan Braun hit a meaningless solo shot in the top of the 9th with two outs off of Jonathan Papelbon, but that was all the Crew could muster in the day game Saturday. Suppan took the loss to go to 2-3, 4.78.
