Sheets completes gem against Pirates

Ben Sheets came into his start Wednesday night against the Pirates looking to rebound from his horrible outing against the Dodgers last week. Not only did Sheets rebound, he pitched his second complete game of the season. Sheets struck out six and only a Xavier Nady home run in the fourth inning stopped Sheets from recording his second shutout of the season.
Although the offense only managed four runs, it was enough for the victory. Rickie Weeks went 2-5 on the night with his sixth home run of the year while scoring two runs and stealing his eighth base of the season. Ryan Braun had two more hits including a triple and an RBI. Corey Hart also had two hits, one of which was a double. Hart also drove in a run. JJ Hardy has fit in very nicely in the six-hole in the lineup. Hardy went 1-2 with two walks and an RBI.
The Brewers have now won two straight on the road and will look to sweep the Pirates tomorrow. Dave Bush will take the mound for the Crew.
I’m cautiously optimistic right now with this team. The bats seem to be waking up and it looks like everyone just feels more comfortable at the plate. Most outsiders might see two victories over the Pirates as no big deal, but Brewers fans see this team beating up on a Pirates team that usually dominates us in Pittsburgh. A series sweep would be enormous for the team’s confidence and help the team roll into D.C. over the weekend.
