The Brewers take on the Toronto Blue Jays in their third interleague matchup of the year, sporting a dismal 1-5 record thus far against the AL.
Pitching Probables:
Tuesday, 6/17, 7:05 p.m. CT: RHP Dustin McGowan (5-4, 3.92) vs. LHP Manny Parra (5-2, 4.66)
Wednesday, 6/18, 7:05 p.m. CT: RHP Shaun Marcum (5-3, 2.43) vs. RHP Ben Sheets (7-1, 2.72)
Thursday, 6/19, 1:05 p.m. CT: RHP A.J. Burnett (6-6, 4.90) vs. RHP Dave Bush (2-7, 5.73)
Things to look for:
- Will all three games be as close as they appear on paper? In other words, the first matchup pits two hurlers with middle-of-the-road ERA’s, the second game has both pitchers with sub 3.00 ERA’s, while the finale has two starters with higher ERA’s.
- Parra is 3-0, 2.90 at home this year in 7 starts…while McGowan is 1-3, 6.02 on the road this year…will these trends continue?
- If Sheets is dominant against the Jays, an AL opponent, will that improve his chances of making the All-Star game?
- If Bush falters against his former team, will Mark DiFelice get a shot at starting next Tuesday?
