It’s getting old to say…Ben Sheets made another great start in a Brewers’ win on Monday night. No, I lied. It doesn’t get old at all. Sheets may be pitching as well right now as any time in his career. Sheets pitched his third complete game of the season to pick up his ninth win of the season. Sheeter only needed 106 pitches to finish off the Braves by a score of 4-1. He gave up only four hits on the night while striking out seven.
Rickie Weeks showed he his healthy after being on the DL the last couple of weeks. Weeks went 3-4 with a walk and a run scored. He also stole his 11th base of the season. Mike Cameron got the scoring started for the Brewers when he hit his 12th home run of the season in the second inning. The two-run shot gave the Brewers a lead they never gave up.
The Brewers have now won three in a row and have the best record in baseball since May 20th. The Brewers pick up a half game each on the Cubs and Cardinals who were off on Monday night. The team is now six back of the Scrubs and only a game and a half back of the Cardinals for the wild card lead.
Dave Bush takes the mound for the Crew on Tuesday. Bush will make his first start since his gem against the Blue Jays last Thursday when he took a no-hitter into the eighth.
