The Brewers and Manny Parra took the rubber match Wednesday afternoon, 5-2, thanks to early run support for Parra, as the Brews tagged Astros starter Wandy Rodriguez for 3 runs in the first 3 innings. J.J. Hardy provided a 2-run insurance homer in the 7th to ice the win.
The Brewers have off on Thursday before hosting the Pirates over the weekend. Milwaukee now sits at 73-55, 5 back of the Cubs in the NL Central (6 in the loss column), but 2.5 ahead of the Cards (3 in the loss column) for the Wild Card.
