Brewers hand Cards a 5-3 gift

Merry Christmas, Albert.
The Brewers took a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the 8th, and then gave the Cards four runs and the win. David Riske gave up 3 hits and 3 ER’s in 1/3rd of the 8th, but poor plays in the field by Prince Fielder (tossed a throw to second to get a picked off runner, only to have the ball hit the runner and allowing him to be safe) and J.J. Hardy (who went to the plate but threw behind the runner and in the dirt) added to the chaos.
Meanwhile, Albert Pujols has established himself as the biggest ass in the majors, first criticizing his teammates indirectly by telling everyone that Carlos Villanueva’s taunt woke up the team–apparently, being in a Wild Card chase against the team ahead of you isn’t incentive enough for them, and the Cardinals need some external motivation for them to play well. Then Pujols called out Villanueva, wanting to take their fight outside after the game. News alert Albert–your pathetic bunch of whiners won’t face the Brewers again this year unless you somehow manage to sweep the Cubs and Chicago loses the majority of their remaining games.
Can’t wait until mid-September when the Cardinals are officially eliminated from the race. Unfortunately, until then, Brewers’ fans will have to root for them to beat the Cubs to help the Brewers win the division.
After an off day, the Brewers head to Pittsburgh.
