Prior to Friday night’s game, the Cubs had lost their last four games…unfortunately, so had the Brewers.
So when the Reds put away the Cubs for their Northsiders’ 6th straight loss, the Brewers had one more chance to capitalize on the Cubs’ collapse…they finally succeeded, besting the Padres’ 3-2 in 11.
The Brewers are now 81-60 and 4 games behind Chicago for the NL Central title, with 21 games remaining…with 6 of those against the Cubs…the Crew still control their own destiny…the Cubs won’t keep losing forever, so the Brewers need to win these games against weaker opponents to stay in the hunt for the division title…and home field advantage in the playoffs.
