When Yovani Gallardo got his contract extension last spring, I did Great Moments in Overreaction, based on the somehow overwhelmingly negative reaction. With the Brewers officially trading for Zack Greinke today, I thought it would be interesting to see what the Twittersphere was saying about the trade. Here are just a handful found by searching “greinke” — some are funny, some are sad, and some are just filled with joy-based profanity. Enjoy.

HawkeyeNation Greinke trade away from KC just might be enough for me to finally call it all off for baseball

@slamb05 Greinke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

tinaodarby Why couldn’t Zack Greinke go to a team in the AL? Why’d he have to go to a team in the same division as the Cardinals? Dammit.

SethWalder Bitter-sweet day for Greinke. Sweet because he’s on a better team. Bitter because he still has Yuniesky Betancourt behind him.

KummerA Let me be the first to day it – Brewers appear to have overpaid for Greinke.

Barton1331 To the people I insulted, dismissed and ignored by saying Greinke was a pipedream and unrealistic, I’m happy to say I’m sorry. #brewers

jcook71 So Zach Greinke is now a Brewer. The Cubs might as well not even play the season. Fourth place finish.

PunkOnDeck GREINKE CAN’T SURVIVE IN THE BRIGHT LIGHTS OF “THE GOOD LAND!”

mlhumph3 It’s curse-worthy, if Royals weren’t already cursed: Royals deal Greinke to Brewers

JWerthsBeard THE GREINKE WHO STOLE CHRISTMAS

FITODOTCOM If only politicians responded to The People like Doug Melvin. Holy smokes. #brewer #greinke
