51 reasons why you don’t want Tiki Barber on the Bucs

barbersFormer NY Giants running back Tiki Barber, twin brother to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers corner Ronde Barber, has announced he is filling out the paperwork to return to the league he walked away from while still on top of his game.

Barber finished with a 1,062 yard season with his last in a Giants uniform, which gave him 5040 yards in his last three years. Four seasons removed from the game, Tiki says he is working out and is in great, surprising shape. He sites his brothers level of fun as a reason for him to  desire a comeback.

But this is not a Giants blog, nor an NFL one; its a Tampa Bay writer in charge, so knowing Bucs fans as I do, there is bound to be an onslaught of requests for 21 to join 20 on the same side-line.

It’s a nice fairytale ending but I can think of 51 reasons why we don’t need Tiki Barber on the Bucs.

24- Cadillac Williams
27- LeGarrette Blount

Blount is the clear starter next season, and the Bucs will (read should)  re-sign caddy as he is the best bet for back up running back. Cadillac knows the offense, knows the protection schemes.

While sentimental street is a great place for the Barbers to be  reunited, Dale Mabrey just doesn’t have the room right now, nor the playing time.
