The Brewers finished the first half of their 2011 schedule with another road loss, wasting a few golden opportunities on their way to a 5-2 loss in Yankee Stadium. With what’s happened during the first two games in New York, it’s easy to get down on the team’s chances for the second half. Let’s not forget what the team has managed to accomplish to this point.
There will be plenty of people that don’t want to hear it, but the Brewers are in first place. They control their destiny for the second half of the season. And oh by the way, they just finished one of the best first halves in franchise history, despite the fact that Zack Greinke is giving up runs like it’s going out of style and the team can’t seem to play well on the road.

It’s also the same record the 2008 Brewers held after 81 games. The past two games were hard to watch, but this team is far from terrible.
