Narveson’s Season in Jeopardy as He’s Placed on 15 Day DL

Pitching is a funny thing sometimes and Chris Narveson’s horrible last outing may have an actual explanation other than he just sucked as it was released today that he’s being put on the 15 day DL with a torn rotator cuff.  The sevarity of the injury isn’t known and that’s the reason for the 15 day disabled list placement at this point in time.

I’ve got plenty of experience with a torn rotator cuff in my own personal life and I’ll tell you that if there is anything more than a 2 or 3cm tear in the rotator cuff he’s going under the knife, no questions asked about it.  Even if the tear is minor there’s no way he’s just on the 15 day DL.  He’d be lucky to not go on the 60 day DL at minimum and more likely than not Narveson is down for the entire season.

If that’s the case it’s going to be interesting to see who comes into the team and the rotation, especially with Kameron Loe being gone as of tomorrow on bereavement leave.  According to reports it’s going to be Wily Peralta coming up for Loe and Mike McClendon coming up for Narveson.  With Narveson’s start coming tomorrow the Brewers also announced that Marco Estrada would be getting the start in his spot and not Peralta.  It’s very possible that they’ll use Estrada and Peralta to stretch out the innings and not waste more arms than needed at this point.  It also isn’t any indication that Peralta would be the one sent down as McClendon was already in town and therefore it allows Peralta some extra time to get into Milwaukee as Loe is still available to pitch tonight.

Good luck Chris and we hope for a speedy and full recovery.  It’s going to be a long and hard road ahead for him and keeping him in your thoughts and sending encouragement is a great idea.  Recovery isn’t easy at all from this injury and let’s keep his spirits up Brewers fans!

Does Peralta stay in Milwaukee or will Roenicke stick with Estrada?  What do you think will happen… Send us your comments!
