Times’ Tom Jones REDICULOUSLY explains how the Bucs could be moved out of Tampa Bay using non-facts, myths and lies.

raymond jamesThis kind of stuff is no doubt blog fodder, so I will not pass up on a good meal. St.Pete Times’ Tom Jones has lost all of my respect, and I hope he is about to lose yours as you read on. You see, Tom Jones writes the Bucs could be headed to Toronto or Los Angeles, or even London. When your done laughing, skip to after the “Read On” jump and read his article. Feel free to pick it apart, however I will do it for you.

I wont give him the credit of a link, so I will wait for you to read the article, then come back.

Thanks for returning, sorry I could not provide you a brown bag for that. But I warned you.

Glazers deal with RayJay is too lucrative to leave  behind.

As you can probably tell already, every single argument he presents is based on myths, lies, and falseness.

In paragraph two he uses the fact that the Falcons and Saints are powerful teams. So your telling me Tom the NFL doesn’t want good three team competition? Did they move the Giants out of the NFC East because the Cowboys and Redskins and Eagles were already good? Last time I checked Drew Brees isn’t a young whippersnapper. Josh Freeman is going to be around for 10 or 11 more years, what does Brees have left as an effecting QB, 5?

Then the real dessert comes, that the Glazers are spending more money on Man U than the Bucs. Remember that statement when  Josh Freeman, LeGarrett Blount, Mike Williams, Arrelious Benn, Jeremy Zuttah, Gerald McCoy, and other young stars contracts are up for renewal. Because that is what the Bucs do, they keep their talent in house, maintaining a core group. How do I know this? Because they did it before with Sapp, Brooks, Alstott, Lynch, etc. They havn’t been spending money because there hasn’t been anyone worth spending it on.

Now the story gets more ridiculous; “The Bucs became one of the first franchises to really take a player’s character into  consideration before drafting or signing them. They have since abandoned that philosophy”

Really? Mike Williams didn’t prove anything to you? No Tom Jones, the  Bucs continue to look into players character, they just don’t share the results of the looking into with you!

Players that have more mug shots than football cards? Tanard Jackson really deserves all the crap he’s gotten himself into, but last time I checked you don’t get a mug shot for a dirty Urine test. Or blowing less than the legal limit because you only drank one beer and didn’t even swerve on the highway more than you or I do when we check the rear view mirror like Mike Williams.

Tom Jones goes as far as to say if the Bucs get Nnamdi Asomugha and gets rid of Talib, that may be Tampa’s saving grace.

Tom, Tom , Tom, you WORK HERE IN TAMPA BAY….and you don’t know anything about E.J. Biggers? Or Myron Lewis? Talib is a good corner, don’t get me wrong, but the Bucs were 4-1 in games without him last year!

But the real reason Jones would get a 1 or 2 on a wonderlick test is that the Bucs may move to London.  Even 30+ year Bucs fan and Bucs UK f ounder Paul Stewart says there is NO WAY an NFL team will ever move to England. The teams that play there have to have a bye week follow the game. Imaging flying from London to the states 8 times a season? Yes most teams fly out on Friday or Saturday to their opponents away site, but they don’t fly out Friday AND Saturday.

Jones article should never have seen the light of day, it was based on worthless information and has absolutely 0 plausibility. Shame on the St. Pete Times for putting it out, and double shame on Tom Jones for writing that thing.

And to think blogs are considered talentless and second rate.

A Tampa Bay team a candidate for relocation and it’s not the Rays?

According to the Web site “Opposing Views,” Jayson Braddock is an NFL scout and NFL writer and on-air personality. In a column, he opines about which teams might be headed to Los Angeles and Toronto in future years. It’s the usual suspects with Braddock saying the Jaguars, Chargers or Raiders could end up in L.A., while the Bills or Lions could end up in Toronto. Then, he throws in his “wild-card” team — the Bucs.

The Los Angeles Bucs? The Toronto Bucs? It seems like a major stretch, but he writes:

I wouldn’t be surprised to see two of their franchises move out of state. At face value it appears that the young Buccaneers are finally turning it around, but then you realize that they play in the same division as the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons. Josh Freeman could very well be a top 10 quarterback in the NFL but Drew Brees and Matt Ryan are ranked higher than him on that list. The owner, Malcolm Glazer, seems more interested in spending money on his Manchester United Futbol team (I just threw up a little bit after calling soccer football), then his Bucs team. Then there are the character concerns we’ve talked about here on the site.

The Bucs became one of the first franchises to really take a player’s character into  consideration before drafting or signing them. They have since abandoned that philosophy and this could lead to their demise. Aqib Talib is their premier cornerback and they may be forced to move him due to off the field issues, like shooting a gun at people. I strongly believe that this team is going to blow up overnight. You can’t build a team with a bunch of players that have more mug shots than football cards. If Raheem Morris pulls off a deal for Nnamdi Asomugha and gets rid of Aqib Talib, then that may be Tampa’s saving grace. After taking heat for their character guys, they did draft better human beings this year. Still, it’s worth a follow to see how this team plays out.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see this team head north, west, or on an extreme long shot, east across the pond. They are already scheduled to play a game in London, again this year, why not just stay there?  London Bucs?

That’s what I’m reading between the lines. But, I’m sure that there are several fan bases out there holding up three fingers at me right now and telling me to read between the lines. Those same fans may need to put those three fingers back down and push that thumb up, cause you’ll need a ride to Los Angeles or Toronto if you want to see your favorite team in a couple of years.
