E.J. Biggers working out, just not with Bucs.

biggersIt’s not Mike Williams or Arrelious Benn catching passes in front of him, but E.J. Biggers is down in Miami working out with NFL players in an effort to stay in shape, and be NFL ready for the return of football when it happens.

Biggers is going up against the likes of Mohamed Massaquoi, Torrey Smith, Antonio Brown, and Greg Camarillo; all NFL players, in an effort to maintain a forward momentum Biggers has enjoyed since spending his rookie year on the IR (2009). He followed that IR trip with a breakout 2010 season, where he earned the nickel back position.

Biggers looks to be the starter at corner now that Talib is facing suspension, Jail time, or both. E.J. recorded impressive numbers in 2010; 53 tackles, including one for a loss, one INT, and 12 Pass breakups. He has 6 starts opposite Ronde Barber, 5 of which came in place of Talib; the Bucs were 4-1 in that stretch of games.

While E.J. make take advantage of the opportunity, he is NOT taking advantage of Talib. “He’s a great Guy” Biggers said; “Aqib is a guy I love to death in the locker room and on the field”.

Taking the place of Biggers will be last years rookie Myron Lewis. “Myron and I work out together a lot and I tell him that its time for us to show them what we can do, and we have to go do it!”.

Other than that, there is no sign of the Bucs working out on defense together as a unit. The offense has gotten together under QB Josh Freeman, but only linebackers Quincy Black and Tyrone McKenzie have taken part.
