The Biggest Suprise of course was Friday’s cutting of Tyrone McKenzie who seemed to be the backup at Mike LB. It doesnt seem hes a practice squad potential player based on some of the things he did in the offseason and camp.
Another huge surprise was the cutting of Daniel Hardy AND Nathan Overbay AND Ryan Purvis! This leaves the Bucs with only 2 Tight Ends, although Hardy and Overbay are almost sure shots to be put on the Practice Squad. The only problem is the Practice Squad is not an automatic thing. you have to clear waivers, a risky move for Daniel Hardy, who has a lot of film on him and his draft status.
All of these players except McCargo have accrued less than 4 years of free agency, so they all have to pass through waivers. Only McCargo can sign with any team right now. Once a player clears waivers, they can sign witn any team. Some players like Hardy will probably not be able to get through waivers, meaning another team will likely sign him.
