I am a 2013 university graduate who attained a 2:1 while studying History & International Relations at Loughborough University in England. Despite only being 21 I have been writing and reporting news about the NBA since I was 16, I have contributed to such sites as BobcatsPlanet.com and Bobcats.com (Official). So how does a teenager in England become a Charlotte Hornets fan? The answer, pure luck. I was in the Alabama when I was younger on holiday and wanted to buy a jersey; the shop I went into had two options:
Option 1) Some guy called LeBron James from the Cleveland Cavaliers
Option 2) Adam Morrison of the Charlotte Bobcats
I have always been one to support the underdog, so I chose the guy I had never heard of, Adam Morrison. Now the fact it has taken LeBron until 2013 to have as many rings as Morrison is laughable in itself, but I understand most people think I made a grave error. However, the Bobcats although not always being the most talented team have been as interesting as any team I could think of to cover. From something so stupid and pesky as buying a Morrison jersey my future now lies in NBA journalism.
I had the idea to start The Lottery Mafia after the Lakers’ struggles in the 2012-13 season, as I became bored of every website covering the disaster that was the Lakers. I wanted to create a place where fans could learn about the teams and players that get forgotten about by generic media, The Lottery Mafia is here to bring a spotlight to those players and teams that other sites forget about.
