Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat Atlanta Sunday 16-13, and in the process several of the young Bucs (arn’t they all?) set or began some records.
Four Sacks were registered by the Bucs on Sunday, two of them resulted in turnovers, another forced Atlanta to settle for a Field Goal. All four sacks came from either first or second year players.
- In only his second start, Dekoda Watson recorded his first sack of his career, which resulted in his first fumble caused too!
- DE Michael Bennett recorded his first fumble recovery of his career.
- DE Adrian Clayborn got his first sack of his career, and he too caused his first fumble of his career, in his third game.
- DT Brian Price who missed almost the whole rookie season, got his first sack of his career in the fourth quarter, forcing the Falcons to settle for a field goal.
- Even Josh Freeman is still setting records, No.5 ran for his first TD yesterday. On the drive Freeman was 7 of 7 for 72 yards.
Then there is the veteran of veterans, Ronde Barber. No. 20 got his first INT of the year, and the 41st of his career, which gives Barber a pick in 13 of his 15 seasons.
And while he did start anything, Kellen Winslow JR extended his pass catching streak to 79 consecutive games. Going into the game, K2 had the 3rd longest active streak among tight ends and 8th longest streak overall.
