BUCCANEERS PLACE S GRIMM ON INJURED RESERVE

grimmThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they have placed S Cody Grimm on Injured Reserve and promoted TE Collin Franklin to the active roster from the practice squad.Grimm started in the first three games of the 2011 season for the Buccaneers, recording 16 tackles and one pass defensed. A seventh-round selection (210th overall) in the 2010 NFL Draft, Grimm has played in 14 career games with 12 starts, totaling 77 tackles, three passes defensed and two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. He has also recorded 11 special teams tackles. Franklin joined the Buccaneers practice squad on September 5, where he has spent the first three weeks of the season. The Buccaneers also announced that they have signed C/G Zane Taylor to their practice squad. Taylor, who played collegiately at the University of Utah, originally entered the NFL in 2011 as an undrafted free agent with the N.Y. Jets.
