Learning more about Detroit’s newest addition…
Colorado point guard Spencer Dinwiddie was making the most of his junior season and his Buffaloes were 14-2 when he suffered a torn ACL on Jan. 12. The injury ended the season for the 6-foot-6 guard, who ultimately decided to go pro in order to more fully focus on his recovery. Thursday night, Stan Van Gundy used the Pistons’ only pick (No. 38 overall) to nab Dinwiddie, a first-round talent according to many.
Five months removed from surgery, reports indicate that Dinwiddie is progressing well. A day after the draft, we spoke with his college head coach, Tad Boyle, to get the inside information on Dinwiddie, the player and the person. We even asked about his infamous mustache.
