We pick Missouri associate head coach Tim Fuller’s brain on former Tigers Jordan Clarkson and Jabari Brown.
Last Thursday, Jordan Clarkson, a 6-foot-5 point guard, was selected by the Washington Wizards with the draft’s No. 46 pick. He was then promptly traded to the Los Angeles Lakers for cash considerations of $1.8 million. Clarkson played two seasons at Tulsa, transferred to Missouri and then redshirted in 2012-13 before turning in an impressive junior season for the Tigers. During that 2013-14 season, he averaged 17.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game, but slipped to the second round despite expecting to be taken earlier.
Clarkson’s teammate and fellow junior Jabari Brown didn’t even get drafted despite leading the Tigers in scoring with 19.9 points per game and shooting 41.0 percent from 3-point range. Brown has, however, been invited to play for the Houston Rockets’ summer league team.
So, with Clarkson on his way to Los Angeles and Brown attempting to claw his way into a roster spot somewhere, we brought in Tim Fuller to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each player’s game. Here we go:
