Colts Bucs History- When Tampa Bay went Undefeated, and it shocked the world!

There is not alot to Colts Bucs history, but the little there is, boy there is some history there.

For example, the second ever meeting of the two clubs, was week 2 of 1979. Mind you, Tampa Bay was a joke still, one year removed from their 0-26 start, the Bucs went 5-11 in 1978. The Bucs beat Detroit at home opening day, and played the then Baltimore Colts.

It wasnt pretty, the Bucs went down 17-0. You saw that figure somewhere didnt you? Yup, when you read about how the Bucs came back vs Minnesota a couple weeks ago, you saw a chart somewhere that said “Down by 17, Baltimore Colts, 1979. Well this is that game.

The Bucs came back, took the lead, then lost the lead to the Colts. The game went into Overtime, when the Bucs caused a fumble. John McKay wasted NO time, he kicked the FG, and got the heck out of Dodge.

What the announcer said had a profound affect on yours truely. I became a Bucs fan because of THIS game. When they said “The Bucs are undefeated” it was funny, and my neighbor said “HA, someone should record that”. Well someone did, and I own this game now.

So check it out..how the Bucs went undefeated long long ago, to start out the magical 1979 season, all vs the Colts.
