Lottery Links: Garnett wants to own the T-Wolves, and Ryan Anderson opens up about his girlfriend’s suicide

Another week of basketball, another week of lottery news and notes.

The Philadelphia 76ers are still without a win, sitting at 0-9. SB Nation’s Jesus Gomez wonders when the Sixers will get their first win, because at this point, the team is looking like it could make a run at the Nets record worst start to the season of 0-18, which they did back in 2009-10. A lot has been said and poked fun at about this team, but let’s all hope Philly avoids setting any unwanted records.

Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports is reporting that Kevin Garnett wants to buy the Minnesota Timberwolves one day. The Wolves drafted Garnett as the 5th overall pick in 1995, where he spent 12 seasons before the trade to Boston. It is great to see Garnett still has strong attachments to the team that drafted him. While he was never able to win a championship in Minnesota, he left a legacy few who for the team will be able to top.

Finally, if you haven’t read Chris Ballard’s piece for SI.com on Ryan Anderson moving forward after his girlfriend Gia Allemand’s suicide, it’s a must read. Anderson opens up about the night of the tragedy, along with enduring the events that followed, from dealing with her suicide, contemplating his basketball future, to raising more awareness on how to prevent suicide. Among those who has been by his side the whole way is Pelicans head coach Monty Williams, who was there the night of Allemand’s death, and stayed in close contact with Anderson in the months that followed. Without a doubt, Williams’ involvement is a big reason Anderson has been able to move forward.
