The Lottery Mafia is looking for writers

mail-1

Interested in covering the NBA’s lottery teams? We are looking for writers.

The Lottery Mafia started roughly two and a half years ago. Since our start, I’ve been able to work with a lot of talented writers. Many have moved on, but a few of remain, and while their work continues to be high quality, the small size of our staff has stretched us a bit thin.

Because of that, we are looking for writers to join The Lottery Mafia. Covering the NBA is fun, and a bit maddening, and covering the lottery teams is certainly both. TLM focuses on those 14 lottery teams, the ones that often get overlooked for reasons good and bad. We focus on the unknowns, the CDRs and Brian Roberts of the world (though I admit, none of us saw the rise of Hassan Whiteside), and cover the most important piece of the lottery system, the draft. If any of this sounds interesting, we’d like to hear from you (and if it doesn’t, we’d still like to hear from you).

Here’s a quick rundown of what we’re looking for. Writers are generally asked to write 1-2 articles a week. Specifically, we are looking for writers who:

  • Can cover the NBA lottery teams.
  • Can cover the NBA draft, and future lottery players.
  • Are knowledgeable on the international hoops and European prospects.
  • Have an interest in covering the NBA D-League.

If you fulfill one or more of these, send an email to [email protected]. Introduce yourself, any writing experience you have, and supply links to three writing samples.
