THE POOLS. Pool play has begun in Round 3 of the FIVB World Championships. Pool G contains France, Germany, and Iran while Pool H contains Brazil, Poland, and Russia. See beIN Sports network for broadcast times.
There were two matches on the schedule for today.
1. Brazil vs Poland.
In a thriller, host Poland upset the top-ranked Brazil team in 5 sets in front of 12,100 fans, virtually all of who were cheering for “Polska.” Final scores were 25 – 22, 22 – 25, 14 – 25, 25 – 18, and 17 – 15.
2. France vs Germany.
In front of a sparse crowd of 1,630 people, France swept Germany in three sets, 25 – 15, 26 – 24, and 25 – 22.
