Josh Johnson rooters wasting their time. No one cares.

johnsonIf your looking forward to seeing Josh Johnson play Sunday, you may want to re-evaluate your perspective. You’ve probably  been sitting at home, complaining to yourself how Josh Freeman hasnt done much this season anyways (pause to laugh), and you’ve seen from the seat of your coach how many open wide receivers Freeman has missed.

There is a reason Josh Johnson was drafted in the 5th round of the 2008 season. The guy only threw ONE interception in his entire college career. There is a guy named Luck who  has throws dozens more in his career, and he is scheduled to be the No.1 pick in the entire draft. He’s a good kid, and he has some nice tools, but at best J.J. is servicable.

Josh Freeman is a franchise Quarterback, one of only 4 the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have ever taken besides Doug Williams, Vinny Testaverde, and Trent Dilfer. Only Williams like Freeman showed any sign of being capable of doing something with his career. So many Tampa Bay Quarterbacks have disapointed in their first starts as a Buc, But Josh Freeman took it by the horns. He has nine 4th quarter NFL comebacks, but fans are upset because he hasnt gotten no.10 in the last two tries?

It’s a given that Josh Freeman has not had as good of a season as 2010. Was it because last year he overachieved? Unless Josh Freeman has 3 more seasons like this one, you had better get used to Freeman being your future signal caller, probably for the next 12-13 years. An NFL Quarterback doesn’t “Get It” all in just his 3rd season. It takes time.

Josh Johnson is not even that far ahead of the third string QB Rudy Carpender, who too has looked good in preseason games.

Of course it wont matter. Dozens of people will fill the message boards if J. J. issues in a Bucs win over Carolina. The NFL has a system in place for decades, and it works. Every once in a while you get a Tom Brady, but every once in a while you get a lotter winner too. Doesnt mean its going to be you.
Or Josh Johnson.
