November can be puzzling, October has gotten quite pink if you ask me. September tends to be a little hard to grasp, and we all know August is just plain, well, fake.
But December football, thats what its all there for, thats what everyone plays for whose worth playing. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have announced that their young players (Ok, the really really young players) are going to get their shot Sunday, and probably the rest of the year, to show what they can do. Mossis Madu is going to have a chance to show he is better than Kregg Lumpkin. (No need for jokes here, the joke has been on us all season long)
In the secondary, were going to see more of Gaitor and Black, to see if these young DBs have ‘the stuff’ it takes to make it in the NFL, and will provide tape for the Bucs for 2012, and for themselves to learn from in the offseason.
Most have called it an excuse, and it probably is, but I belive last year’s offseason was what caused the Bucs to be such a good team. They didnt have that this year, and its the biggest reason I dont want to see a coaching change. Yes every team in the league suffered a loss of the offseason, but teams with older players obviously didn’t need them as bad as the Bucs.
Other teams are young too, but its a question of WHERE they are young at. Point in case, the Green Bay Packers are the second youngest team, but that is not exactly true. You see, they are young in backups. The key position guys on the packers are all 27-29. The Bucs youth is EVERYWHERE, and our key position guys, QB, WR, RB, are SUPER Young too. Yes the 49ers are young, but not really at the skill positions.
We’ve seen the benefit of starting Da’Quan Bowers, Adrian Clayborn, but now we’ll get Larry Asante and hopefully Luke Stocker to see what we have to look forward to. Again, I find it doutful a coaching change is in store, but the one thing we’ve all heard, when ever a coach does come into a new team and new situation, the first thing he does is pull out the tape of last years game 16. Why?
To see which players quit on the tape, or failed to quit, hopefully the latter. And with a game against a very beatable opponent, these young Bucs better have their A games ready for the camera, or they may find themselves on the outside looking in.
