We waited to see what you could do: we were 0-8 and ready to fire you, but we wanted to see what you could do.
4-4
Thats it, nothing more. Average. mediocre.
4-12
We understand about Josh Freeman, and even if you warned the Glazers and Mark Dominick about him, they clearly didn't listen to you last year. No one is going to listen now either.
Raheem Morris was fired when his Bucs lost 10 in a row after starting 4-2. under Schiano, the Bucs never tasted 4-2. Morris had his previous team 10-6. Sciano has 11 wins; in two years, with Free Agents like Vincent Jackson,Darrelle Revis etc etc. Morris was told Free Agent was a dirty word.
Jon Gruden was fired too; he had the audacity to win 9 games in his final year. Tony Dungy did the same thing right before he was told someone else will do the job better.
And to be fair, it's not as if there are no signs of support to keep him. The team did not quit, although tonight's game had the same feel as Morris's last game at Atlanta where the Falcons hung an easier 40+. Points in the first quarter alone.
Sure the Bucs were fighting and making a game of it, until that shameful display of division 2 college football at the end of the first half. As if going for a Fg, throwing a pass into the end zone, made absolutely no sense, to the tune of a fake special teams play that was simply unidentifiable. It wreaked of giving up, and some players like Jonathan Banks seemed to do the same.
Where there some bright spots this season? Tim wright, Bobby Rainey, Mike James were pleasant surprises. Lavonte David and Gerald McCoy too. But the were too many Mike Glennon bad moments than good, too much Josh Freeman and MRSA, not enough Vincent Jackson.
Bottom line, the Glazers brought in Greg Schiano to take a team one year removed from 10-6 and get them back to the right side of winning. Instead, two years later, and millions of dollars of free agents spent, the result is 7-9 and 4-12.
Unacceptable.
Thanks Greg.
