Lovie will have open checkbook for Free Agency

Lovie will have open checkbook for Free AgencyRaheem Morris coached the Bucs at the wrong time. The Glazers were riddled with debt from the ill-timed purchase of Man-U as well as still paying Jon Gruden and Bruce Allen their salaries. Times have changed.

Man U is a big money maker now like everyone said it would be and the Glazers have deep pockets once again. Tampa Bay was left in fairly good cap situation by former GM Mark Dominik and the roster has talent on it; except for a few areas like Tight End and Quarterback.

The Glazers did not spend an eternity looking for a replacement for coach Greg Schiano, instead things went so fast you would have thought things were organized before hand- even though all

How would Graham look in Pewter?

parties swear that is NOT how it happened.

By getting the man they wanted and giving him the control they wanted him to have it sets up a free agency period in which Lovie Smith will have a pocket full of Money to go shopping in the NFLs mall of players.  But what players will the Bucs go for?

There are some interesting men that could really assist the Bucs attempt to turn things around in 2014.

Charles Tillman- Chicago Bears CB- Imagine the Bucs secondary with Revis and Tillman? Its not that hard to do and it maybe a reality in a matter of months that his 36 INTs and 42 forced fumbles could be coming to Tampa.

Jared Allen- Minnesota Vikings DE- Oh what a pass rush the Bucs will have with Allen on the line teaching Clayborn and Bowers as well as youngsters on the roster and soon to be drafted players as well. He'll be 32 in April so he is not a long term solution but Allen has double digit sacks since 2006. He had 11 last year and 22 the year before- so hes not done yet.

QB Josh McCown- Chicago Bears – Lovie brought McCown to Chicago and last year he excelled during the injury to Jake Cutler. So much so that most analyst felt the Bears were wrong to switch back to Cutler, and the evidence would show they may have been right.

Its far too early to look deep into either Free Agency or the Draft at this point, but the ties to our new coaching staff could lead these guys right into One Buc because of their familiarity. There are no other viable big name options at Quarterback unless you want to consider Michael Vick or Josh Freeman. Not sure which one is a bigger suicide pill.

There are no big WR free agents that hit you in the face- at least not the type the Bucs need; a Burner Speedster that can stretch a defense. Bucs already have an over the middle guy in Mike WIlliams and a HANDs guy in Vincent Jackson. A speedster is a must have this year.Hakeem Nicks? Jeremy Maclin?  Doubtful right?

And if you've felt the sensation of choking on a chicken bone this past weekend watching former Bucs excel just think- Seahawk and only ex Buc worthy of drooling over Michael Bennett will be a free agent again this year. Bring em  back Lovie!

If that has you down think about this…Jimmy Graham is a free agent!
