Part One was the Bucstop.com reviews of Radio shows.
As an internet site Bucstop.com will of course pull itself from the review! Bucstop.com is a good place to come and read a positive opinion on the Bucs and see a lot of good videos! But were not media…so where should you go?
#1 Media Site- Pewter Report
Hands down- no one, and I mean no one gives you the inside scoop like Scott Reynolds of PewterReport.com. They have been at it for ever (over 20 years) and thus have earned the trust of the organization to allow someone like Reynolds access to stories you dont read anywhere else. Reynolds own piece- the SR Fab 5- is sometimes required RE-reading the intel in it is so good! I miss the paper magazine and not all the authors are as good….but if you really want to know everything there is to know about the Bucs; read Pewter Report on a regular basis.
Runners Up In No order
TBO.com (tampa tribune) with Writers Fennely, Cummings and Kauffman you have immense coverage of the Bucs by writers who have been around the team for a long time. (note to Tampa Bay times…you would be here if you didnt charge $$ for your content)
JoeBucsFan.com The Joes are two men who had the right idea- provide non stop coverage of the team. You will not get more content than you will from JoeBucsFan.com. Every day there are probably 10 plus articles written; all about the Bucs. As an internet site the Joes have access at One Buc so you can expect some good inside stuff too! Joe even covers the radio scene; with apperances on just about every show from Ron and Ian to Steve Duemig. When he is not on the air- Joe is reporting something juicy mentioned on the air by one of the big shows.
Bucpower.com Bucpower is run by Paul Stewart who originally founded the largest Bucs fan club outside of the USA in the UK. Bucpower is a Bucs resource site which also has editorial articles written by yours truely on occasion. Bucpower is the place to go to find out the result of a Bucs game-who wore a uniform No.- Bucs draft info- in fact Paul has just updated the site to include all 2013 stats and info. You wont find more information on the Bucs history than Bucpower.com. Its the ultimate resource site that even the players go.
Buccaneers.com – The Bucs own Website has updated multimedia clips of news conferences, practices, player interviews, and more. Video Audio and Photos are in abundance.
WhatTheBuc.com What The Buc is a fan site run by Derek Fournier and crew. very active on facebook with a radio show call in podcast and major Tailgate site.
On the down low…. TampaBayTimes.com This would be the No.2 media site if not for the fact that inexplicbly at some point last year the Tampa Bay Times decided it would be best if they charged for their content. Thats right- charge money for internet access to their paper. Even if your a full subscriber you have to pay (albiet a reduced rate) . Since then the Tampa Bay Times has reduced their rates by 50% to try to entice people to sign up. From 12 dollars a month to 6 for regular subscribers- down to 3.00 a month for paper subscribers.
The content is excellent. Rick Stroud and Tom Jones are on the morning show on 620 WDAE and discuss their articles on the air…and Gary Shelton is perhaps the most accomplished writer in all of Tampa Bay sports. But who ever had the idea to do this should be shot. Its a public relations nightmare. Your not starting a new trend you just gave your competition a heads up on you. If you want to sell a premium content service by all means. But sell us something that is already free….thats Usery.
