Word is teams are interested in Tampa Bay Buccaneers star cornerback Darrelle Revis- the Bucs are saying nothing.
The words around the league are the same old cliche's youve heard for years…"They went 4-12 WITH HIM…you can go 4-12 without him."
True- but do you want to go 4-12? and shouldnt the question be "can you go 12-4 without him"?
For the better part of a decade the Bucs used that same logic was talented player after talented player left Tampa Bay. Granted back in the day it was for money reasons; the Culverhouse ownership wasnt exactly known for its big pockets when it came down to it.
Point is you have one of the best if not THE best cornerback already on your roster. Yes your paying him a LOT of money- 16 Million dollars- that could pay the salary of 2 or 3 very good players. But Revis eliminates a teams top WR if used correctly. That is not something you can guarantee that youll get out of a 3rd round pick- even though the draft is one of the deepest in recent history.
Imagine the Bucs with a pass rush AND Revis shutting down the top Wide Outs in the NFC South. It isnt too hard to do…hes already on our team. We don't need to do anything.
And we shouldn't.
