Can Tampa Bay Buccaneers turn it around in 2014?

Can Tampa Bay Buccaneers turn it around in 2014?Forget the new uniforms- the 1997 Bucs team was going to the playoffs with or without Orange or Pewter Unis. Forget the fact no one in the NFC South repeats as division champion. It took years to stop the 'Worst to First' cycle in the NFC South but it did end and so with the other…its just a coincidence.

The real tape measure is the last 4 seasons….5 teams have improved greater than 7 games turnaround since the 2010 season- including the Bucs in 2010 who went 10-6 after going 3-13 in 2009.

Last year the Cheifs of KC improved 9 games. Prior to that in 2012 the Colts improved 9 games from their 2011 season. That same year the Minnesota Vikings improved 7 games from 3-13 to 10-6.

Finally in 2011 the San Francisco 49ers improved 7 games from their 2010 season which started the run they are still on now.

You may look at the QB position and say it started there but thats not entirely true. In fact one QB had a hand in two of those turnarounds; Former 49er QB and current KC signal caller; Alex Smith.

The change was also done at the Head Coach position…the one you cannot draft. In each case a new coach was hired within a year of the turn around. With last year's KC Team new coach and QB had something to do with the playoff push for the chiefs.

There is no reason to be shocked if the Bucs improve by 6 or 7 games this year- and a 6 year playoff drought may come to an end.
