Jay Mohr needs to forget about Tampa Bay

We finally got rid of Jim Rome and now we have to deal with Jay Mohr….what is it that makes clear channel feel we need to listed to Los Angeles sports talk hosts in the noon to 3 pm slot?

Mohr took shots at Tampa Bay yesterday (wednesday) regarding our (take one freaking wild guess) attendance issues. The most played out sports issue in america…the whole country knows we have attendance problems at the Trop. We’ll get into that next paragraph.

But Mohr goes on to make the most ridiculous claims…that the Rays will be moving to San Antonio? That we won’t be able to keep anyone…no Price…no Longoria…

Longo is tied up until 2023 all you have to do is do a google se  arch to get correct information. And if the Rays go anywhere they will go to Tampa.

But Mohr was blasted by Tampa Bay’s Steve Duemig who, like me, is sick of hearing LA sports show host dog our area.

News Flash …..you don’t even have an NFL team! You lost TWO OF THEM..not just one!

Has anyone seen LA’s football teams? Then Mohr spent today making fun of Steve Duemig’s name; as if not having correct facts made him look stupid enough.

There are many factors why the Rays attendance sucks, neither of which are that we don’t have good fans in Tampa Bay.

In no particular order

1) Were a West to East area. Get up at 8 am and take a helicopter ride of the bay area, what do you see? TONS and Tons of cars headed into Tampa from Pinellas county.  Then at 5pm you see the same people going back home. Its IN OUR DNA in the bay area to go from Pinellas to Hillsborough County, not the other way around. Ive lived in Pinellas and now I live in Tampa. l know the area…thats how its always been. You live in Pinellas, you go to Tampa for everything you need (except beaches). Its just written in our DNA in the Tampa Bay area…you see it during football season.

2)Corperate Support is only about 1/3 of the Rays tickets. In most MLB stadiums its 2/3.

3)Tampa Bay has the lowest amount of people living within 30 minutes of the Ball park than any other City. Not the Rays fault they planned to put a stadium on the wrong side of the Bay back in the early 80s when we would have done anything to secure a pro baseball team back then.

4) Few parts of the country if any were affected worse than we were by the recent recession/depression. Ground Zero for the housing market collapse.

5) Rays are in or near the top 5 in Radio and TV numbers. Problem is the Rays got a weak deal and when the new contract comes up the Rays will be in the drivers seat with money to tie up long term favorites like Myers.

Bottom line is leave Tampa Bay alone Mohr. We know what our problems are, and were working on them. Now whats the score of the LA Rams vs LA Raiders?
