It was one play actually, that summed up Mike Glennon’s existence as Tampa Bay Buccaneer’s
Quarterback. The Bucs were in the middle of a 5 straight 3 and out performance, which could have ended had Glennon had enough.
On the play no one was open so Glennon took off, rolled around right side and approached the first down marker with ease. He stepped out of bounds, one yard SHORT of the first down.
But thats what Mike Glennon is, just a tad bit short of what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers need for a QB, either for the present or the future. There IS no future with Mike Glennon.
Sure the yardage was there against Pittsburgh and New Orleans, its there for everyone. But facing a few real defenses has changed the picture. Bucs fans wanted to see Glennon so it can be determined if the Bucs need to look for a QB in next year draft.
Start Scouting.
This one is JUST short. Not by much mind you; he had the courage to get the Bucs into the end zone, and lead the offense on three straight scoring drives in the 4th qtr, completing a 4th 4Qtr Comeback in his career. And it was Jonathan Banks and the defense that couldn’t close out the win, with Banks dropping a sure pick that would have sealed the game, and put the Bucs 1 game out of first place.
But at 1-6, the Bucs don’t deserve to be called 2 games out of first place. They are just short of 1st place, just short of the NO.1 draft pick, and just short of a QB that can get them that first down.
