Saints Nation: Madden 11 Released Today

Madden 11 The game “Madden 11” was released this morning at the stroke of midnight and it takes on special significance this year since the player to grace to cover is a New Orleans Saint for the first time ever. I had my copy reserved for a while so I plan to go pick it up at lunch today and play it for a furious amount of hours. This may come as no surprise to you, but when I play Madden I refuse to use any other team besides the Saints. Literally, since the first year I got Madden (maybe around 1994?) I have never played with any other team in my life. I’ve won Super Bowls with Billy Joe Tolliver, Heath Shuler and numerous ones with Aaron Brooks. I’ve rushed for 1000 yards with Ricky Williams, Mario Bates, and Lamar Smith among others. I even somehow got Steve Weatherford to the Pro Bowl once. It’s nice that getting that far with terrible teams in a fantasy game is no longer the norm. This year, the Saints’ team will actually be a contender regardless of how I do behind the controller. Who else is getting their copy this week? I know there’s the whole “curse” thing, but come on, having Brees on the cover is pretty special.
