Here’s what we know so far: reports have come out that Bobby McCray (pictured), Patrick Ramsey, Ladell Betts, Nick Leckey and Kendrick Clancy have all been released. The McCray release isn’t that surprising, considering the Saints were already comfortable letting him go once. Ditto for Clancy, who didn’t have much of an audition to work with. Betts and Ramsey were more suprising. I expected Leckey to get cut because rookie Matt Tennant has looked good and has a promising future.
Apparently these cuts mean that Junior Galette, Adrian Arrington and Chase Daniel have all made the final 53 man roster. Daniel will be the Saints’ only quarterback besides Drew Brees, and he’ll be the official backup. I’ll continue to post as more information becomes available.
