To be expected, the Saints are now down to #9 in the latest Bloguin NFL Power Rankings. Only 3 teams in the NFC are ahead of them, though, with the Falcons at 5, Packers at 7 and Giants at 8. Despite being ahead of the Saints in the NFC South standings, the Buccanneers are still just #16 overall. We’ll see if the Saints can come out and show us a good performance against the Bucs this week to improve their rankings. Bloguin decided to include what I wrote on the Saints this week as their blurb: “Their defense is playing really well. If their offense can get things going, they’ll be right back where they belong”.
I firmly believe that. Right now the defense is playing at an extremely high level. Granted they haven’t played many high end offenses, but I think the Saints are better offensive outputs away from being dominant again. We may just be 3-2, but I firmly believe there is still reason for lots of optimism this season, especially once we gets our backs back healthy.
