After the brutal news that Chris Ivory had been placed on injured reserve yesterday, the hits have continued to come. Pierre Thomas has now been placed on IR and his season is also done. As was reported previously, the Saints have signed running back Joique Bell from the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad to replace Thomas on the roster. I think it’s safe to lay claim that the Saints’ running game is now officially in shambles. The depth chart going into Seattle Saturday now looks like this:
Reggie Bush
Julius Jones
DeShawn Wynn
Joique Bell
We all know Wynn by now and Bell has yet to receive a carry yet in his NFL career. Yikes! I may need to move my prediction of 70% passes up to 80% passes. Time for Reggie Bush to step up and show what he can do as a full time runner, lord knows he’ll get his chance.
In other news, the Denver Broncos apparently have Saints’ defensive coordinator Gregg Williams on their shortlist of candidates for the head coaching job opening and they plan to ask permission to interview him soon.
