Saints Nation’s 10 Best Saints Players of All Time: #6 Joe Horn

Saints Nation's 10 Best Saints Players of All Time: #6 Joe HornMost people outside of New Orleans remember “Hollywood” Joe Horn for his Monday Night Football stunt pictured to the left. Horn used the cell phone as a prop to celebrate a touchdown. I’ve included a video of the “celebration” if you make the jump. It’s too bad that’s what he’s most known for, because Horn was the best receiver in team history and a bonifide playmaking superstar.

His stats:

Horn 94 receptions, which he did twice, is good for 2nd most all time receptions by a Saint in a season. His 1,399 yards receiving in 2004 is the most yards ever by a Saints receiver. He’s also tied for the most touchdown receptions in a season by a Saints’ receiver with 11. He’s second to Eric Martin in career receptions, but first in both yards and touchdowns. While Eric Martin was known as a solid, tough & reliable target with good hands, Horn was a different breed. He was more known as an explosive playmaker that could hurt you with a big play at any time. He was incredibly fast and also very slippery and hard to tackle after the catch.

Thanks for the memories #87, and enjoy the youtube clip below of his cell phone stunt:
