Saints Nation; A Wisconsin Blogger’s Take on Nick Toon

Saints Nation; A Wisconsin Blogger's Take on Nick ToonI was curious about Drew Brees’ new toy in the Saints offense and it just so happens that the Bloguin Network has a Wisconsin blog on staff, so I figured I’d drop those guys a line to get more information on Saints’ rookie Nick Toon. Many thanks to Andrew Coppens of Madtown Badgers for taking the time. You can check out the Wisconsin blog here and you can check them out on twitter here.

Here’s what he had to say about Nick Toon:

“Nick Toon came in to Wisconsin with a ton of expectations because his dad is a legend at the school.  It’s fair to say he had himself a good career that could’ve been great had he not suffered through some foot injuries that really hampered him for the better part of two seasons.
On the field he’s a physical beast and possesses deceptive speed.  With the Saints offense he’ll be capable of being a contributor right off the bat because he brings a skill set that’s not on the team right now.  He can be a possession guy, but also capable of being an over the middle deep threat.  You’ll love the fact that he’s not afraid to mix it up and has strong hands.

Off the field he’s a great person to have on your team.  He was never a problem and was always good with the media.  The biggest advantage for him is seeing his dad as an NFL player and knowing how to handle himself because of that.  Fully expect him to be active in the community and you have to live the fact that he’s embraced his family past by taking his dad’s number 88.
You’re getting a good player that needs to prove he can stay healthy and if he does you may have a future star on your hands.”

Encouraging to say the least. Let’s hope he can stay healthy!
