The schedule starts out with 3 of the first four games on the road. At face value you’d think that’s a brutal way to start, but the Falcons, Browns and Cowboys are all very winnable games. And the Saints will get the trip to Cleveland out of the way while the weather is still fine. The Saints will then have a three week run of games in New Orleans in November which is nice. The only thing I’m not crazy about is having to play in Chicago on 12/15. That could be miserable. 11/30 in Pittsburgh could be dicey weather too. Otherwise, it’s a fine schedule, and it’s nice that the road game in Tampa where the weather stays nice is at the end of the season. It’s hard to know how hard or easy it is until rosters settle in and injuries start to happen. Personally I’m incredibly tempted to try to travel to Atlanta, though going in Saints gear does make me minorly scared for my safety.

The Saints have five schedule prime time games already (2 Monday nights, 2 Sunday nights and one Thursday night) and could add more with the flex schedule. That’s a lot of games in front of a national audience, which is great to see. And I guess we knew this all along but now that I’m seeing the schedule I’m realizing the Saints don’t have a single trip out to the west coast all season, which is nice.
