The NFL Network finally revealed the final part of its top 100 list and the entire list featured three Saints players. It comes as perhaps very little surprise that those three players are Drew Brees (#6 overall), Jimmy Graham (#10 overall) and Cameron Jordan (#99 overall). This list is always made up of player votes.
Brees is up from #11 last season and Graham resurfaces for the first time since 2012 as he was omitted completely in 2013. Brees was the only player on the Saints to make the list last year. In 2012 Brees was ranked #2 overall, Graham was #14, Jahri Evans was #32, Jonathan Vilma was #58 and Darren Sproles was #86. Marques Colston has not been on the list since 2011.
No real issue with the list though I’m slightly surprised to see Tom Brady ahead of Brees at this point (he was #3 overall). Brees was the third ranked quarterback behind Peyton Manning and Brady. I was surprised to see seven safeties on this list and no Jairus Byrd.
Of course this list means very little in the grand scheme of things but it’s nice to see three of our guys respected league wide by their peers. Anyone on the Saints roster that you feel was robbed?
