The New Orleans Saints are about to hit the panic button. Perhaps not just yet, but if they can’t find a way to get a big win at home in Week 5, they just might be close. That’s not even a thought worth entertaining, however, as the 1-3 Saints clearly know a losing season is at stake if they can’t turn things around starting with a Week 5 win over the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
With their season on the line, there is clearly a ton of value to be had in this divisional showdown. Saints vs Buccaneers tickets have an average price of $171 on the secondary market this week, which is 30.2% below the season a average for Saints tickets at the Superdome this year. Fans can get in for just $44, easily the cheapest remaining get-in price of the season for New Orleans. The price is likely down a bit with the Saints losing and Tampa Bay not being the most dangerous opponent, but fans may want to see an angry Drew Brees take out the trash at home this week.
Brees and the Saints have not been on top of their game this year, but that’s largely been the case away from home. In fact, the Saints won their only home game in Week 3 over the Vikings, but have struggled on the road (0-3), as usual.
Obviously New Orleans will eventually have to fix their road issues if they want to go anywhere in 2014, but they first have to start by taking care of business on their home field in Week 5. On paper, they should be able to do that with ease in Week 5. Tampa Bay has a defense that boasts talent and can stifle opponents at times, but they didn’t look overly imposing in week four against the Steelers and it’s doubtful they can shut Brees and the Saints’ high-flying attack down on the road. Defensively, the Saints have been atrocious, but the good news is they face Mike Glennon. Glennon led the Bucs to a surprise upset win in Week 4, but this matchup may not bode well for him this week. That’s what Saints fans will hang their hat on, as even a shootout should still favor a desperate New Orleans squad.
