If winning streak continues, expect Saints tickets to rise

The New Orleans Saints appear to have saved their 2014 NFL season with a week eight thrashing of the Green Bay Packers. While the win was encouraging, the Saints are still 0-4 on the road and have only won games in their own stadium.

If they’re going anywhere in 2014, they’ll eventually have to get it done away from the Superdome. Fortunately, they don’t have to test their luck on the road much in November, which could potentially vault them back into first place in a seemingly wide open NFC South.

At 4-4, the Saints have put themselves in position to potentially win the division, but it is hardly a probability. A Super Bowl visit seems even more remote, and the ticket market demonstrates that sentiment. According to Ticket Score, a company that employs a market for fans to purchase tickets at a weekly “buy-in” rate for championship games, you can purchase New Orleans Saints Super Bowl tickets for as little as $24 per week for the next ten weeks. That’s a total of just $249, which would be less than 20% than the cheapest Super Bowl tickets purchased by fans for last year’s big game.

That weekly buy-in rate will surely increase if the Saints can continue their recent winning ways. To see if the Saints can truly turn things around and make those fans very happy with their purchases, let’s break down their November schedule, while also analyzing the value of Saints tickets over the next month:

Week 10 VS. San Francisco 49ers (11/9/14) | Average Ticket Price: $318.71 | Get-in Ticket Price: $126

New Orleans gets back to work at home after a Thursday night showdown in Carolina in week nine. The Niners are far from an ideal opponent, but things always feel better in the dome and this isn’t the same San Francisco defense we’re used to seeing. If the Saints top the Panthers, they could be looking at moving above .500 with a huge win at home in week 10.

Week 11 VS. Cincinnati Bengals (11/16/14) | Average Ticket Price: $184.61 | Get-in Ticket Price: $59

The home stand continues in week 11, when a fairly shaky Bengals team comes to town. Cincy has definitely looked tough at times, but they’ve mostly been looking beatable lately. That should especially be the case with this contest coming in New Orleans.

Week 12 VS. Baltimore Ravens (11/24/14) | Average Ticket Price: $228.06 | Get-in Ticket Price: $80

Joe Flacco and the Ravens come to the dome in week 12 for what could be a shootout. Baltimore’s offense is actually scarier than it’s been in year’s past, while New Orleans has had some struggles on defense. Again, they’re simply a better and more focused team on their own field, though, so the Saints should be the favorites here if Mark Ingram and the ground game can keep producing.

Week 13 @ Pittsburgh Steelers (11/30/14) | Average Ticket Price: $198.50 | Get-in Ticket Price: $66

Saints tickets end with solid value in November, as their first road game in four weeks comes in Pittsburgh against a suddenly solid Steelers team. A (hopefully) nice winning streak at home should have the Saints in good spirits. Saints fans will have to hope the confidence boost is enough to earn them their second road win of the year (should they beat Carolina).
