I don’t want to give Lyons Yellin too much credit here because he did report earlier in the day that Rick Reiprish was getting promoted. But, he did also break the news below. This is a pretty clear sign that the Saints largely blame poor talent evaluation on their 2014 demise. Hard to argue against the notion that the 2014 draft class was a bust, an exercise Reiprish was largely responsible for. But still, he had been with the Saints since the beginning of the Payton era. Harsh decision for sure… but with Ireland seemingly on board, clearly the Saints felt the need to upgrade.
