From Ramon Vargas on the Advocate website:
Galette is accused in the lawsuit of “physical abuse, mental and psychological abuse, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false imprisonment, defamation, alienation of the affection of others, cruelty, isolation, human trafficking … and simple rape” as defined by Louisiana law. The lawsuit alleges that Galette committed those acts while he and the plaintiff lived together in “open concunibage” for two years.
“Plaintiff became totally dependant on (Galette) and was not only made to seek employment at specific designated locations ordered by the defendant, but was trapped in an abusive relationship with no apparent way out,” the lawsuit said. The lawsuit also accused Galette of referring to the woman in demeaning, misogynistic terms.
The lawsuit also alleges that an unnamed Saints player “repeatedly touched and penetrated Plaintiff’s vagina with his hand while she was drugged by defendant and/or his agents while attending parties at the defendant’s residence.” The lawsuit alleges at least five unnamed teammates of the player “were all witnesses of these acts and knowingly participated in this humiliating and illegal behavior.”
The lawsuit claims the woman was previously drugged unconscious with something referred to as “horny juice.” “Horny juice” was a widely-reported term for drugged drinks that came up in preliminary court testimony related to a separate investigation of ex-Saints safety Darren Sharper, who is accused of multiple druggings and rapes in various jurisdictions, including New Orleans.
To keep the plaintiff silent, the lawsuit alleges, Galette would say she would go to jail if he did. The lawsuit alleges Galette said any complaint against him by the plaintiff would cost her money because she would hinder his ability to earn a living as a pro football player because he’d face suspension by the NFL.
